About this Haunted Castle Ghosts Autumn Wreath embroidery pattern

Haunted Castle Ghosts Autumn Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: a central charcoal haunted castle with glowing orange windows, four cream ghosts, a rounded hill, symmetrical black branches, large cream oak leaves with copper veins, rust-orange berries, gold stars and.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

Stitching sequence

  1. 1. Transfer & anchors Trace the castle, hill arc, four ghosts and the main wreath branches first. Add the large oak leaves, berries, stars, curls and small dots only after the central geometry is aligned. 2. Castle & hill Split-stitch the castle silhouette in black, then fill roof planes with 3799 and walls with 413 / 414. Keep narrow light-gray highlights along selected stone edges. Work orange windows last. 3. Ghosts Outline softly with one strand of 822, then fill each ghost in 712 and 3865 with short directional stitches that follow the rounded body. Add eyes and mouths in a single strand of 310. 4. Branches & oak leaves Stem-stitch branches in 310. Fill large leaves in cream, then place copper veins from the center outward. Keep the pale leaf fill visibly separate from the dark outline for the crisp graphic look. 5. Berries, stars & dots Pad larger rust berries lightly and cover with 920 / 921 satin; use 919 in shadow pockets. Build stars with straight stitches in 680 / 729 / 3820 and use tiny French knots for the scattered gold dots. 6. Refinement & finish Add small grass blades, berry stems, decorative gold curls and tiny branch leaves last. Preserve open ivory fabric between motifs. Block flat and press face-down on thick padding
