About this Bat Heart Pumpkin Celestial Autumn Wreath embroidery pattern
Bat Heart Pumpkin Celestial Autumn Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: taupe-and-gold layered heart with black bat wings, rust pumpkin below, brown curling wreath, olive/ivory leaves, orange/green/black berries, crescents, stars and constellations.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- TRANSFER + WREATH FRAME Transfer heart bands, wing bones, pumpkin lobes, vine curls, leaf spines, berry centers and all celestial points. Work the brown vine network first in 801/3371 short stem stitches, then mark constellation nodes before dense fills.
- LAYERED HEART RELIEF Split-stitch every heart band. Add a light horizontal padding layer beneath the broad taupe/gold bands, stopping about 1 mm inside each boundary. Cover in 3782/832 with narrow 729 highlights; keep 3371/801 only in recessed borders.
- BAT WING THREAD PAINTING Set bones in one strand, then fill each membrane from heart outward with 310/3799/413 long-and-short stitches angled 25-40 degrees toward the nearest bone. Keep 413 narrow on raised folds and preserve broad black valleys.
- PUMPKIN LOBES Pad each lobe separately with sparse horizontal stitches, then cover mainly in 920 with 921/922 on raised ridges and 801/3371 in grooves/stem. Stitch from base toward crown following the lobe curvature so the pumpkin looks rounded, not striped.
- LEAVES + BERRY CLUSTERS Fishbone olive leaves in 3011/3012, warm leaves in 832/3782 and pale leaves in 3865/3782. Build orange berries in 920/921, green berries in 3011/3012 and black berries in 310 with compact two-wrap knots.
- MOONS, STARS + CONSTELLATIONS Satin ivory/gold crescents along their curves using 3865/729. Backstitch constellation links in one strand with tiny 729 knot nodes. Add radial stars and scattered warm dots last, keeping the central ivory field open and uncluttered
