About this Black Cat Crescent Moon Pumpkin Wreath embroidery pattern
Black Cat Crescent Moon Pumpkin Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: seated black cat inside a pale lavender crescent, mauve and plum pumpkins, twisting brown vines, blackberry clusters, cream daisies, muted purple foliage, bats and antique-gold accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance
The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

Stitching sequence
- 1. Transfer & center Mark the crescent and seated cat first, then the bottom pumpkin cluster. Add the two scrolling vine arches, berry groups, flowers and surrounding bat positions. Keep the outer pumpkin ring evenly spaced. 2. Cat & crescent Work the cat mainly in 310 with small 3799 directional highlights so the body reads as fur rather than a solid block. Stitch the crescent in 452 and 453, following the curve from point to point. 3. Pumpkins Shade mauve pumpkins with 3041 and 3740, deepening rib valleys with 3834 where needed. Use 822 and 3865 on the pale cream pumpkin. Work every rib from stem toward base to maintain rounded volume. 4. Vines, leaves & berries Build the scrolling branches with 3860 and 3861 stem stitch, adding 420 / 729 to selected warm accents. Use fishbone leaves in 451 / 3041. Form blackberry clusters with tight 154 / 3834 French knots. 5. Flowers & bats Use 822 / 3865 for petals and 729 for centers. Keep the petals airy and separated. Work bats in 310 / 3799 with compact satin or long-and-short stitches; finish wing tips and edges with one-strand split stitch. 6. Outer ring & finishing Complete the small outer pumpkins last so spacing stays consistent. Alternate 3041, 3740, 452 and 822 across the ring, then add 729 accents and tiny knots.
