About this Gothic Castle Mountain Berry Vine embroidery pattern
Gothic Castle Mountain Berry Vine brings gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: a tall gray-black gothic castle on a dark rocky mountain, deep green foreground leaves, winding olive-gold vines, and clustered berries in black, plum, violet and dusty mauve.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance

Stitching sequence
- 1. Transfer & anchors Trace the castle silhouette, mountain base and the main sweeping vine before adding individual leaves and berry bunches. Mark each window and berry cluster so spacing stays balanced around the central castle. 2. Castle stonework Outline towers in 3799, then build walls with 413 / 414 and narrow 318 highlights. Fill steep roofs with compact 310 and 3799 stitches following each roof slope. Finish windows in 676 / 3865. 3. Mountain & foreground Work the rocky mountain with irregular long-and-short strokes in 310, 3799 and 413, changing direction across ridges. Soften the lower edge into 934 / 936 foliage so rock and vegetation interlock naturally. 4. Leaves & vine Stem-stitch the vine in 730 / 732. Use fishbone stitch for pointed leaves, placing darker greens at the base and lighter 3052 on selected upper edges. Add one-strand veins after all fills are complete. 5. Berry clusters Build berry bunches from small padded satin circles or tight French-knot groups. Mix 3740 / 3041 for mauve clusters and 3834 / 310 for the darkest fruit, keeping each berry individually readable. 6. Gold curls & finish Add olive-gold curls last with one strand of 732 or 676 in stem / whipped stem stitch. Check negative space around the castle, block flat, and press face-down on thick padding
