About this Pumpkin Carriage Witch Spider Antique Mirror embroidery pattern
Pumpkin Carriage Witch Spider Antique Mirror brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A black witch-hat spider stands beside a terracotta pumpkin carriage with pale spoked wheels. An ornate oval antique mirror crowns the composition above a delicate spiderweb. Cream and rust roses, olive and gray foliage, red-brown mushrooms, moths, bats, curled vines, tiny stars and buds form a balanced circular botanical frame. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the mirror oval and filigree, main spiderweb, spider and hat, pumpkin carriage with both wheels, major rose masses, mushrooms, moths and bat silhouettes. Add foliage stems and curled vines next; reserve tiny stars, dots and small buds for the end. Stitch the main 3799/413 structural lines first. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Build the black spider in 310 with 3799/413 soft modeling at leg roots and abdomen edges. Direct body stitches center-outward and each leg along its jointed segment. Work the witch hat after the body, keeping the brim darkest and adding the warm band/buckle only when the black fill is complete. 3. PUMPKIN CARRIAGE Shade pumpkin recesses in 3777/920 and blend into 921/922 on the raised ribs. Keep the pale carriage window crisp and slightly lighter than the surrounding pumpkin. Stem-stitch the wheel rims, then place evenly spaced one-strand spokes from each hub outward before adding green vine curls. 4. MIRROR, WEB + DARK ACCENTS Build the ornate mirror frame in 3799/413 with 414/415 highlights on the raised scrolls; place any red jewel points only after the metalwork is clean. Stitch web radials first and connect them with one-strand arcs. Add bats in 310/3799 and keep all wing tips sharp against the linen. 5. ROSES, MUSHROOMS + FOLIAGE Work rust roses from 3777/920 centers into 921/922 outer petals; build cream roses with 739 shadows into 712/3865 highlights. Fill mushrooms cap-first, adding pale dots afterward. Fishbone olive leaves in 3011/3012/3013 and use 413/414 for gray foliage to keep warm and cool groups distinct. 6. MOTHS + FINAL DETAILS Stitch moth bodies dark, then fill wing panels in 422/739/712 with warm 920/922 accents. Add antennae, tiny fernlets, leaf veins, stars, seed dots and rosebud details in one strand. Recheck open negative space around the spider, carriage and mirror, then steam lightly from the reverse and block the hoop perfectly round
