About this Anatomical Skull with Wildflower Crown Woodland Mushrooms Three Moths embroidery pattern
Anatomical Skull with Wildflower Crown Woodland Mushrooms Three Moths brings botanical and woodland details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: central anatomical skull with flowers rising from the crown, mixed rust-burgundy-cream wildflowers, olive fern wreath, seven woodland mushrooms, three moths, curled tendrils, buds and warm dot accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer and structural framework Transfer the skull centerline, sockets, nasal cavity, jaw and teeth first. Mark the flower crown, seven mushrooms, three moths, paired fern arcs, curled lower tendrils, buds and larger dot clusters before adding small filler details.
- Main focal element Build the skull with 3865, Ecru, 3799 and 310. Follow forehead, cheekbone and jaw planes with controlled directional shading, deepen sockets and nasal cavity gradually, and keep the teeth crisp with fine one-strand separators.
- Secondary large element Work the wildflower crown rising from the skull: shade rust and burgundy petals from dark centers outward, keep cream daisies luminous, then add buds, small golden flowers and leafy stems while preserving clear separation from the skull edge.
- Foliage / supporting motifs Develop the large olive fern wreath and smaller internal foliage. Stitch each rachis first, then build pinnae in consistent angled pairs; add sage leaves and lower curled stems without filling the open white ground.
- Small decorative details Fill the seven mushrooms with directional cap shading and pale stems, then add gills in fine straight stitches. Work all three moths with soft taupe wings, dark spots and slender antennae; finish with berries and scattered copper-gold dots.
- Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Refine skull fissures and teeth, petal folds, fern veins, mushroom gills, moth wing markings, stem junctions and tiny centers. Remove transfer marks and block gently. Confirm skull first, flower crown second, then ferns, mushrooms and moths as the framing layer
