About this Apothecary Bottle Six Ghosts embroidery pattern
Apothecary Bottle Six Ghosts brings celestial and witchy details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central ornate black-wine apothecary bottle, cream label lettering, six ghosts, mirrored leafy branches, berries, gold stars and dots.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the bottle silhouette, inner label, ghost positions and the two sweeping botanical arcs first. Keep the outer wreath airy and preserve the open white center around the bottle. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT - APOTHECARY BOTTLE Build the darkest bottle mass with 902/814 long-and-short stitches, following the glass shape vertically. Use 3371/310 only for the strongest contour and label edge so the burgundy body stays readable. 3. ORNAMENT, LABEL + LETTERING Work 3829/729 scrolls in stem or narrow satin. Stitch APOTHECARY and EST. 1888 with 3865 using one strand of split/backstitch; keep lettering thin, even and open rather than overpacked. 4. SIX GHOSTS Fill cream ghosts in 3865 with short long-and-short stitches following each body curve. Use 310 for tiny eyes/mouths; avoid heavy black outlines on the filled ghosts so they remain soft and luminous. 5. BOTANICAL WREATH + BERRIES Stitch branches in 814/3371 stem stitch, leaves with 500/501/502 and 3051/3052/3053 fishbone. Add 815/3726 berries as French knots or tiny satin dots, varying size sparingly. 6. STARS, DOTS + FINAL BLOCK Use 729/3829 for straight-stitch stars and French-knot dots. Refine only a few 310/3371 edges, then block face-down on a clean towel so the round wreath and bottle remain crisp
