About this Bat Wing Heart Skulls Constellation Wreath embroidery pattern
Bat Wing Heart Skulls Constellation Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: dusty-mauve padded heart with violet bat wings, four ivory skulls, teal/olive wreath, copper sprigs, dark berries, pale clouds, black/gold stars and delicate constellations.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- TRANSFER + LIGHT FRAME Transfer the heart, wing ribs, skull centers, clouds, wreath stems and every constellation node. Work the pale cloud contours and main olive stems first in one strand. Leave constellation links unstitched until dense fills are complete.
- PADDED MAUVE HEART Split-stitch the heart edge, then lay horizontal straight-stitch padding stopping about 1 mm inside the outline. Cover from upper lobes toward the point with 3041/3042 contour satin; deepen the lower cleft and underside with 3740.
- VIOLET WING MEMBRANES Define outer edges and ribs first. Fill each membrane from heart outward with 3799/3740/3041 long-and-short stitches angled about 25-40 degrees toward the nearest rib. Keep 3042 highlights narrow beside selected ribs and preserve a crisp 310 perimeter.
- SKULLS + BOTANICALS Underpad skull domes lightly, then cover in 3865 with 3860/3778 lower-face shadowing; keep sockets and nasal cavities flat and dark. Fishbone teal leaves in 930/931 and olive foliage in 3011, then add copper sprigs in 3778.
- BERRIES + CONSTELLATIONS Form dark berry clusters with compact two-wrap 930 French knots. Once all dense motifs are finished, backstitch constellation links in a single strand, keeping segments straight between nodes. Add tiny 729 knot nodes and isolated gold dots last.
- STARS + FINAL BALANCE Build black stars from exact centers using alternating long/short 310 rays and gold stars in 729/3820. Add cloud/skull highlights last, compare left/right wreath density, reinforce only true weak edges and steam-block from the reverse
