About this Burgundy Witch Hat with Spider Webs Roses and Romantic Gothic Banner embroidery pattern

Burgundy Witch Hat with Spider Webs Roses and Romantic Gothic Banner brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Burgundy/black witch hat with webbed brim; two large spider webs and two hanging spiders; burgundy roses and green leafy sprays; gold stars, berries, scrollwork; stitched text “THE WITCH'S CORNER” and “ROMANTIC GOTHIC” banner.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structural framework Transfer the two text arcs, banner, hat silhouette, three spider-web systems, spiders, main rose positions, primary wreath stems, scrollwork and large stars;mark knot clusters lightly rather than dotting every small accent.
  2. Main focal element Build the witch hat first, shaping the burgundy crown from dark side seamstoward central highlights; work the black band and brim shadow next, then addthe brim web pattern over the stable fill.
  3. Secondary large element Stitch “THE WITCH'S CORNER” and the “ROMANTIC GOTHIC” banner withcontrolled 1-strand outlines and compact fills where needed, keeping spacing, baselines and letter counters clean and readable.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifs Work rose centers and petals, then build the green side sprays and lowerwreath outward along each branch; use directional fishbone stitches so everyleaf follows its own midrib and the wreath stays airy.
  5. Small decorative details Add the two large background webs, hanging spiders, gold stars, burgundyberries, cream floral knots and ornamental scrollwork; keep web lines crispand lighter than the bold hat and lettering.
  6. Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Place final gold/cream knots, reinforce only essential black contours, trim darkcarries behind pale areas, check text legibility and web symmetry, then blockgently from the reverse over padding
