About this Ghost Wizard Library Spiderweb Pumpkin Lantern embroidery pattern
Ghost Wizard Library Spiderweb Pumpkin Lantern brings woodland and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A smiling cream ghost dressed as a wizard anchors the center beneath a large purple pointed hat and cloak. It stands in a crowded magical library of stacked books and shelves, orange pumpkins, mushrooms, candles, a glowing lantern, small floating ghosts, climbing sage foliage, a hanging spider, a broad spiderweb canopy, decorative bunting and a stone floor. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the web canopy, spider, banner cord, shelves, book stacks, central ghost and hat, pumpkins, mushrooms, lantern, major vines and floor outline. Mark only essential book-spine divisions and cobblestone seams. Establish shelf edges, web spokes and large vine stems first so the crowded composition stays aligned. 2. CENTRAL GHOST + WIZARD CLOTHING Fill the ghost in 3865/712 with soft vertical long-and-short rows, preserving a clean scalloped lower edge. Build the hat and cloak from 550 through 552, 553 and 3041, following crown, brim and fold direction. Add the 310 eyes and smile only after the pale face is smooth. 3. BOOKSHELVES + STACKED BOOKS Work shelf wood and dark outlines in 801/838, keeping horizontal and vertical edges straight. Fill book covers in alternating violet, copper, sage and brown families, varying value rather than stitch density. Add page blocks in 712/738 and fine page lines with one strand after the covers are complete. 4. PUMPKINS, MUSHROOMS + LANTERN Shape pumpkins with curved 920/921 ribs and 801 shadow channels; add 838 stems. Stitch mushrooms with violet caps and 3865/712 stems, then spot and gill details. Build the lantern in 3799/310 with 729/921 flame and glow, keeping the metal frame crisp around the warm center. 5. WEB, SPIDER, GHOSTS + FOLIAGE Complete web crossbars in one strand of 310, keeping every arc fine and evenly tensioned. Pad the spider body lightly with 3799 and finish legs in 310. Add the small 3865/712 ghosts with tiny 310 faces, then fishbone the surrounding 3051/3053 leaves and stem-stitch vines. 6. BUNTING, CANDLES + FLOOR FINISH Fill the top bunting and miniature book/banner motifs in the existing violet, copper, sage and brown families. Add candle wax in 712 and flames in 729/921. Finish cobblestones with restrained 738 fill and 838 cracks, refine page lines and vine curls, remove transfer marks, steam lightly from the reverse and block flat
