Stitching sequence

  1. PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the ghost silhouette and face, hat, pumpkin pail, all three large pumpkins, major branches, mushrooms, acorns, leaf/fern groups, berry clusters and the long green/rust/plum spiral paths. Stem-stitch only the principal 801/934 branch and vine scaffolding first; leave small curls and berry stems until the end. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Fill the ghost in 3865, blending 822 into the lower hem, arm overlaps and the side farthest from the central light. Keep stitch flow mostly vertical with gentle fanning. Finish the 310 hat after the ghost fill, then add the 920 band, eyes and smile last so the face remains clean and dominant. 3. SECONDARY LARGE FORMS Work the left and right orange pumpkins with 919 in narrow valleys, 920 through mid-lobes and 921 on upper/outer crowns. Shape every lobe independently. Build the center green pumpkin with 3011 in grooves, 3012 in mids and 3013 sparingly on crowns; keep all three forms rounded rather than striped. 4. FLORALS / FOLIAGE / SUPPORTING ELEMENTS Fishbone the olive and dark-green leaves with 3011-3013 and 934, following each leaf from base to tip. Work oak leaves in 420/921/3011 with stitches turning through each lobe. Add fernlets outward from their midribs; place the burgundy lower fern in 814/815 only after nearby pumpkin edges are secure. 5. SMALL DETAIL WORK Satin acorn nuts in 420 with 801 caps; keep stems one strand. Build mushrooms in 3865/822 with 801 undersides and vertical stems. Add berries in 814/815/919 as compact knots or tiny satin shapes, then stitch 729 stars/dots and the small pumpkin pail so these accents remain subordinate to the ghost and large pumpkins. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Add the remaining 934/920/814 vine curls, berry stems, leaf veins and fine branch corrections with one strand. Recheck the near-circular balance and open ivory gaps around the ghost shoulders and between lower motifs. Secure dark tails away from pale areas, steam from the reverse and block without flattening berries, acorns or pumpkin ridges
