About this Lavender Bat Heart and Candle Garden embroidery pattern

The heart is a lightly raised central shape, with dark scrolls that must stay legible over the lavender fill. Wing panels fan outward from it and need controlled changes of direction to suggest folded membrane. Candle groups below introduce small vertical shapes, while moon curves and tendrils soften the upper field. The mirrored sprays are airy rather than a closed wreath, leaving the wings and heart as the strongest silhouettes.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied guide proposes 14 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

The supplied guide labels this design advanced. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.

warm ivory linen/cotton, 28-32 count; firm enough for heart/candle satin

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer the heart, wing ribs, candle row, moon crown and mirrored botanical sprays.
  2. Add one light padding layer and cover the heart with contour satin before its fine black scrollwork.
  3. Thread-paint wing panels from the heart outward, then build the leaves and candle bodies.
  4. Complete flames, curved moons, star rays and pearl-like knots with the open field kept light.
