About this Runed Witch Cauldron with Lunar Smoke and Bats embroidery pattern
Runed Witch Cauldron with Lunar Smoke and Bats brings celestial and witchy details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A tall S-shaped plume of magical smoke rises from the pot, with layered copper-gold and charcoal bands, small moons, stars and pearl-like dots. Two bats occupy the upper corners, while spiderwebs, crescents and starbursts balance the sides. Value hierarchy: The darkest values are in the cauldron outline, handle interiors, charcoal smoke, bat wings and coal pieces. The brightest values are the pale smoke accents, cream moons and stars, web highlights and hot fire points. Embroidery approach: Build the cauldron structure and rune linework first, shade the metal body, then stitch the flowing smoke from dark bands to warm highlights. Finish with bats, moons, webs, stars, firewood and raised knot details.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- 1. Establish the cauldron structureSplit-stitch the pot silhouette, handles, rim bands, feet and key panel divisions. Add the rune linework with 1 strand before any surrounding fills obscure the boundaries. 2. Shade the bronze vesselFill the cauldron with curved brown long-and-short stitches. Keep 3031/838 in the lower and side shadows, 839/840 across the midtone panels, and 433 sparingly on raised edges. 3. Build the magical smokeWork each smoke ribbon independently from the pot upward. Alternate charcoal, rust, copper and old-gold bands while preserving the visible white/cream sparkles and small moon shapes. 4. Add bats, moons and starsFill the bats with directional dark brown-gray stitches, then stitch side crescents and scattered stars. Keep pale highlights clean by working them after the dark shapes. 5. Stitch webs and fire baseBackstitch the two lower spiderwebs with 1 strand, then build logs, orange embers and black coals beneath the cauldron using short directional stitches and knots. 6. Finish sparks and cleanupAdd French-knot dots, bright star centers, final smoke highlights and tiny fire points. Check reverse-side thread travel, clean rune edges and secure all ends
