About this Winged Autumnal Heart Candle Wreath embroidery pattern
Winged Autumnal Heart Candle Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: dimensional rust-red heart with symmetrical bat wings, framed by olive ivy, copper leaves, curling vines, a lower row of glowing candles and scattered gold stars.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL LINES Transfer the heart, both wings, wreath arc and candle row with precise symmetry. Establish wing outlines, heart perimeter, major ivy stems and long vine curls first in one-strand 3371/3011 split or stem stitch so later fills cover joins cleanly.
- PADDED HEART + ORNAMENT Outline the internal scrolls and star motifs before filling. Lay horizontal padding beneath the heart, stopping about 1 mm inside the border. Cover with 920/921 satin flowing from upper lobes toward the point; deepen edges and recessed ornament with 3777 after the fill.
- WING THREAD PAINTING Set every wing rib first, then fill membrane compartments from the heart outward. Blend 310/3799 with restrained 801/738 warmth, angling long-and-short stitches about 25-40 degrees toward the nearest rib. Keep broad outer contours darkest and light catches narrow.
- BOTANICALS + COPPER LEAVES Fishbone ivy in 3011/3012 and copper leaves in 920/921, directing each leaf toward its central vein. Use 780/801 on warm twig lines and 938 only in deepest foliage veins. Keep the lower botanical arc lighter than the heart/wings so it reads as framing.
- CANDLE ROW + FLAMES Pad candle cylinders lightly with horizontal stitches, then cover vertically in 738 with 3777/938 edge shadowing. Shape flames upward in 729/3820 with tiny 3865 cores. Add only a few short glow rays so each flame stays crisp and separated.
- STARS + FINAL DEFINITION Radiate stars from exact centers using 729/3820 straight stitches and a few tiny knots. Reinforce only critical heart, wing and vine boundaries in one strand. Check left-right wing balance and candle spacing, then bury dark tails beneath filled motifs and steam-block from the reverse
