About this Winged Black Heart, Lunar Phases and Constellations embroidery pattern

The heart is the dark raised anchor, while the wings have shaded panels and fine ribs instead of uniform black fill. Alternating gold and dark lunar shapes establish a circular rhythm around it. Cloud banks interrupt that ring with softly curved pale forms. Constellation links and shooting-star trails travel through the open spaces, so keeping those lines lighter and finer than the wing edges preserves the layered celestial effect.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied guide proposes 14 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

The supplied guide labels this design advanced. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.

ivory linen/cotton, 28-32 count; firm enough for padded heart satin

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer the heart, wing ribs, moon phases, cloud banks and constellation nodes.
  2. Lightly pad the heart and cover it with dark contour satin, adding the central star ornament after the fill is smooth.
  3. Thread-paint the wing panels, then stitch curved gold-black moons and softly layered pale clouds.
  4. Complete shooting-star trails, fine constellation links and compact knot nodes before the last starbursts.
