A symmetrical botanical wreath surrounds the bird with rust flowers, olive blooms, maple-like brown leaves, berry dots, curled stems, two large bats, one small bat, two crescents and scattered stars. About this Autumn Crow Bats Celestial Botanical Wreath embroidery pattern

Autumn Crow Bats Celestial Botanical Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A symmetrical botanical wreath surrounds the bird with rust flowers, olive blooms, maple-like brown leaves, berry dots, curled stems, two large bats, one small bat, two crescents and scattered stars. Value structure: Near-black crow and bats form the deepest tones; brown branch and dark leaves support them. Pale moon shapes, flower centers and stars provide the brightest accents. Embroidery approach: Build structural outlines first, then fill the crow and branch, add bats and florals, and finish with delicate vines, moons, stars, berries and highlights.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Printable outline preview

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied PDF contains the design's DMC color suggestions and stitching guidance. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

Stitching sequence

  1. Establish the framework Transfer the crow silhouette, branch, bat outlines, flower centers, crescent shapes and outer vine rhythm. Backstitch only the finest guide lines.
  2. Stitch the crow Build head, neck and breast first, then wing feather groups and tail. Use 310 in recesses, 3799 for main dark planes and 413 sparingly on feather ridges.
  3. Complete the branch and bats Work the branch with directional brown stitches, then fill the three bats, keeping wing membranes thin and pointed.
  4. Add major flowers and foliage Stitch rust and olive flowers, then the larger brown and olive leaves. Keep petal and leaf stitch direction radiating naturally from centers/midribs.
  5. Build the wreath details Add berry sprays, tiny buds, curled stems and remaining foliage. Keep these lighter and finer than the crow so the focal hierarchy remains clear.
  6. Finish celestial accents Fill both crescents, add stars, dots and flower-center knots, then inspect feather edges, symmetry, tension and reverse-side thread travel
