Rust, gold, olive and deep-teal leaves frame the books. Small candles, stars, dots and curling vine flourishes complete the circular balance. Value structure: Deepest values sit in the bottom book, outlines and dark teal foliage; brightest values occur in candle wax, page edges, flame centers and pale gold halo rays. Embroidery approach: Build clean structural outlines first, fill book planes with controlled directional stitches, then add candle forms, leaves, lettering and finally the tiny celestial accents.

About this Candlelit Grimoire Library embroidery pattern

Candlelit Grimoire Library brings celestial details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Rust, gold, olive and deep-teal leaves frame the books. Small candles, stars, dots and curling vine flourishes complete the circular balance. Value structure: Deepest values sit in the bottom book, outlines and dark teal foliage; brightest values occur in candle wax, page edges, flame centers and pale gold halo rays. Embroidery approach: Build clean structural outlines first, fill book planes with controlled directional stitches, then add candle forms, leaves, lettering and finally the tiny celestial accents.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Printable outline preview

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

  3. Build pages & letteringAdd fine cream page rows, deeper page separators and 1-strand copper lettering. Work slowly around the curved letters.
  4. Stitch candles & lightFill the tall and side candles vertically, add wax drips, holders, satin flames and evenly spaced golden halo rays.
  5. Complete foliageFishbone the autumn leaves in rust, gold, olive and teal, placing darker shades at bases or shadowed edges.
  6. Finish celestial detailsAdd swirls, stars, dots and knots last. Inspect negative space, rebalance any sparse area and secure all thread ends cleanly
