About this Celestial Moon Jar with Moon Phases Ravens and Botanical Wreath embroidery pattern
Celestial Moon Jar with Moon Phases Ravens and Botanical Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central celestial potion bottle filled with stars and waves, complete lunar- phase ring, lavender clouds, twin black ravens, olive and dusty-pink leafy wreath, purple bell flowers, rosebuds, berries, stars and sparkles.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer and structural frameworkTransfer the bottle silhouette and stopper, full moon-phase circle, cloud shapes, two ravens, outer botanical arcs, flower clusters and main stars. Establish the bottle and lunar orbit in 1 strand using 3371/3740, keeping the circle true and leaving highlight breaks open.
- Main focal element Build the celestial bottle from the interior outward: stitch the 550/3740/3041 lower waves first, then 729/677 stars and dots, followed by the pale crescent and 3865 glass glints. Shade the glass lightly so the contents remain the visual focus and keep the stopper bands symmetrical.
- Secondary large element Work the moon phases clockwise, using 310/550 for shadow masses and 3829/729/677 for illuminated crescents and full moons. Keep satin direction radial within each disk, preserve consistent spacing on the orbit, and reserve the brightest 677 edge touches for the final pass.
- Foliage / supporting motifs Stitch the outer wreath from stems outward with 3011-3013, then layer 315/316/3727 dusty-pink leaves and buds. Use stem stitch on curves and fishbone on leaves, darkening overlaps behind the ravens and flowers so the wreath reads as a continuous circular frame.
- Small decorative details Add purple bell flowers in 550/3740/3041, small rosebuds in 315-3727, berries in 550/315/316, and the twin ravens in 310/3371 with sparse 3865 or 3042 feather glints. Scatter gold 729/677 stars and knots only after major fills are secure.
- Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Sharpen bottle edges, raven beaks, flower folds and lunar rims with 1-strand darks; place the brightest 3865/677 sparkles last. Check the moon ring for roundness, even phase spacing and balanced wreath density, then block from the reverse so the bottle stays vertical and the circular frame remains true
