Crow Floating Candle Enchanted Vine Scrollwork

Hand embroidery pattern PDF

US$2.00

Loose scrolling vines curve around the design in plum, dusty rose and violet. Ivy-like leaves, tiny sprigs, gold stars and dots fill the gaps without forming a hard border. Value hierarchy: Deepest values are in the crow and darkest vine accents. Brightest values are the candle body, flame, gold stars and tiny gold dots. Preserve generous untouched fabric. Embroidery approach: Establish all fine scrollwork first, then fill the crow, work the candle, and finish with leaves, stars, berries and dots so the delicate lines stay clean.

About this Crow Floating Candle Enchanted Vine Scrollwork embroidery pattern

Crow Floating Candle Enchanted Vine Scrollwork brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer the scroll framework Mark crow, candle, major vine paths, leaves and stars. Keep line placement light so open fabric stays clean.
  2. Stitch the vine skeleton Use 1 strand for the long plum and dusty-rose curls, working smooth stem stitch or whipped backstitch before dense areas are filled.
  3. Build the crow Outline key edges with split stitch, then layer long-and-short feather groups from head through wing, breast and tail. Add beak, eye and legs last.
  4. Work the candle and flame Fill the candle vertically in warm ivory/straw, shade wax drips with old gold, then stitch the wick and flame with gold plus a small copper center.
  5. Add leaves, sprigs and stars Use fishbone or small satin fills on the pointed leaves, French knots on berry tips and straight stitches on stars.
  6. Finish the scattered dots Add the gold dot accents, inspect spacing and tension, trim visible travel threads and preserve clean open fabric around every motif
