About this Crow in Thorned Rose Spiderweb Wreath embroidery pattern
Crow in Thorned Rose Spiderweb Wreath brings botanical and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A dark thorny wreath carries cream, gold and midnight-blue spiral roses, small leaves, berry clusters and two pale spiderwebs below the bird. Value hierarchy: Deepest values sit in the crow, branch and navy flowers. Brightest areas are the ivory roses, web strands, gold leaves and tiny ochre knots. Embroidery approach: Lay fine wreath and web structure first, build the crow in directional feather layers, then add roses, leaves, berries and small gold accents last.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Establish the wreath and websTransfer the branch circle, rose centers, leaf clusters and both lower spiderwebs. Stitch the dark branch arcs first, then the fine web spokes and crossbars with one strand.
- Build the crow silhouetteOutline the bird lightly, then fill head and breast from crown downward. Keep 310/3799 in recesses, 413 in midtones and only narrow 317/318 highlights.
- Layer wing, tail and anatomyWork overlapping wing feathers from shoulder outward, then complete long tail feathers, beak, eye, legs and claws with fine directional stitches.
- Create the spiral rosesWork the ivory, old-gold and navy roses as woven wheels from center outward. Keep each rosette compact so it remains dimensional without distorting the fabric.
- Add leaves, berries and twig accentsFill leaves with fishbone or satin stitch following their stems, then place berry knots, tiny gold dots and small bud clusters around the wreath.
- Refine highlights and cleanupAdd final pale feather glints, web accents and gold details. Check branch tension, rose height, knot spacing, visible travel threads and overall balance before finishing
