About this Crow Roses Spiderweb Botanical Wreath embroidery pattern
Crow Roses Spiderweb Botanical Wreath brings botanical and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A floral wreath of large roses, rosebuds, olive leaves, berry clusters and twisting branches frames the bird, while three fine spiderweb areas add delicate contrast. Value hierarchy: Deepest values sit in the crow, spider, web junctions and branch shadows. Brightest values appear in the cream roses and small eye/beak highlights. Embroidery approach: Establish linework and branch structure first, build the crow in controlled feather groups, then stitch roses and foliage. Finish with webs, berries and tiny highlight details.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer structural linework Mark the crow silhouette, major feather divisions, branch curves, flower centers and all web anchors. Keep web guides especially light.
- Build the crow Outline with 1 strand, then layer 3799/310 feather groups. Add 317/414 sparingly on the crown, back and wing edges to separate feather planes.
- Stitch branches and stems Work the twisted main branch in 898, 920 and 921, then add fine stems with stem stitch so the wreath structure is stable before floral fills.
- Work roses and buds Start with the cream flowers, then dusty rose and terracotta blooms. Build petal layers from centers outward and place darker shades into petal folds.
- Add foliage and berries Use fishbone stitch for olive leaves with 3011 shadows, 3012 body and 3013 highlights. Finish berry clusters with French knots or tiny satin dots.
- Finish webs and details Backstitch the spiderwebs in 1 strand, then add the hanging spider, eye catchlight, beak details and final cleanup of thread paths and tension
