About this Crow Thorn Branch Enchanted Vine Circle embroidery pattern
Crow Thorn Branch Enchanted Vine Circle brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A leafless branching perch anchors the bird. The outer structure is a symmetrical ring of loose olive-sage scroll vines, interrupted by four lavender bats and scattered gold and copper celestial marks. Value structure: Near-black and pewter grays shape the crow; black-brown and coffee tones define the branch; muted green keeps the vine border light; violet bats and warm gold/copper accents provide controlled color contrast. Embroidery approach: Establish branch and vine linework first, then build the crow with directional feather fills. Add bats as small satin/ long-and-short shapes and finish with one-strand stars, dots and tiny leaf details so the open fabric stays clean.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer the open framework Mark the crow silhouette, branch forks, major vine spirals, four bats and star positions. Keep the open negative space clean and do not overdraw tiny details.
- Stitch branch and vine structure Work the bare branch in brown stem/split stitches, then follow each green border spiral with one strand. Add the small leaves only after the scroll lines are smooth.
- Build the crow Fill head and breast first, then overlap wing coverts and tail feathers. Use 310/3799 for recesses, 413 as the main modeling gray and 317 only on narrow raised edges.
- Add beak, eye, legs and claws Use short satin on the beak and fine split/backstitch on feet and toes. Keep these details crisp without making them heavier than the feather mass.
- Stitch the four bats Outline the scalloped wing edges lightly, then fill with muted violet. Follow the wing membranes from body outward and preserve the pointed silhouettes.
- Finish stars, dots and cleanup Add old-gold knots and radiating stars, then copper starbursts. Check vine symmetry, feather direction, tension, reverse-side thread travel and any stray dark fibers on the pale fabric
