About this Lantern Luna Moths Spiderweb Vine Wreath embroidery pattern
Lantern Luna Moths Spiderweb Vine Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A thick olive vine curls from the lower center around the lantern toward the upper right. Six smaller moths, four corner webs and five spiders create a circular rhythm around it. Value structure: Deep brown and charcoal are concentrated in the lantern frame, spiders and the lowest dark moth. The brightest values occur in the lantern glow, cream starbursts and pale moth highlights; greens dominate the vine and luna wings. Embroidery approach: Establish lantern, webs and vine structure first. Fill the lantern and moths next, then work leaves and spiders. Finish with stars and knots so the open ivory ground stays clean and airy.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Set the structural framework Transfer the lantern, large vine, four corner webs and major moth silhouettes. Backstitch only the key outlines so later fills remain aligned.
- Build the lantern Work the darkest brown metal first, then bronze midtones and the gold-lit glass panel. Add window bars and tiny cap/handle details with 1 strand.
- Complete the moth family Stitch the large luna moth first, then the six smaller moths from light to dark. Keep antennae and wing veins fine and separate from filled wing areas.
- Work the vine and foliage Stem-stitch the long sweeping vine and curls, then add fishbone or short straight-stitch leaves following each branch direction.
- Add webs and spiders Backstitch the four webs with low tension, then place the five small spiders using compact satin bodies and fine straight-stitch legs.
- Finish stars and raised accents Add rust, olive, burgundy, cream and gold starbursts and French knots last. Check spacing, remove stray fibers and secure all tails cleanly
