About this Mushroom Crowned Skull with Crescent Moons and Starry Branches embroidery pattern
Mushroom Crowned Skull with Crescent Moons and Starry Branches brings celestial and woodland details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central skull, clustered mushroom crown, paired crescent moons, open leafy branch arcs, violet wisps, stars, dots and constellation linework.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance

Stitching sequence
- Transfer and structural framework Transfer skull, mushrooms, crescents, branch arcs, wisps and star lines. Set key 1-strand 939/646 contours and confirm left-right balance before filling.
- Main focal element Build skull in 3865/822/646/3799 with 2-strand long-and-short along brow, cheek and jaw planes. Reserve 310 for deepest recesses; keep teeth fine.
- Secondary large element Stitch the mushroom crown back-to-front. Blend 209/210, 3722/3859, 611 and 927/928 center-to-rim; add 1-strand gills after the cap fills settle.
- Foliage / supporting motifsWork 939 stems along each arc, then fishbone leaves base-to-tip. Add 3041/210 wisps with relaxed 1-strand stem stitch so curves stay open.
- Small decorative details Outline both crescents; add starbursts, constellation links and dots in 939/3041 with 1 strand. Keep linework light to preserve negative space.
- Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Deepen sockets and cap folds selectively, add highlights and French knots, trim stray fibers, then damp-block without flattening knots or distorting branch symmetry
