About this Raven Candle Rose Celestial Wreath embroidery pattern

Raven Candle Rose Celestial Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A burnt-orange candle and branch support the center; rust and blush roses, buds, leaves, navy berries, crescents and stars create the circular frame. Value structure: Darkest: raven, berries and burgundy leaves. Midtones: rust roses, branch and olive foliage. Brightest: flame, gold stars, crescents and blush petals. Embroidery approach: Lay branch, vine and stems first; stitch the raven, then candle and roses; finish with foliage, berries, celestial linework, knots and highlights.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

Stitching sequence

  1. Establish the framework Transfer the branch, outer looping vine, floral stems and major celestial placements. Stitch these fine lines first with 1 strand so the circular structure stays clean.
  2. Build the raven Outline the bird, then work long-and-short feather groups from head and shoulder toward wing tips and tail. Add cool gray highlights only where the artwork visibly catches light.
  3. Work candle and main roses Fill the candle vertically, keeping a darker lower edge, then stitch the large rust roses with deep centers and lighter outer petal ridges.
  4. Add blush roses and foliage Complete the pale roses, buds, olive leaves and burgundy leaves. Keep leaf directions aligned to each stem for a natural wreath flow.
  5. Finish berries and branches Add padded blue-black berries, refine the branch and small twig joints, then secure clean separations around the raven feet.
  6. Add celestial details and cleanup Stitch crescents, stars, tiny dots and highlight knots last. Check symmetry, remove travel threads and smooth any over-packed fills
