About this Rust Bat Wing Heart Autumnal Wreath embroidery pattern
Rust Bat Wing Heart Autumnal Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: dimensional rust botanical heart with black bat wings, symmetrical olive- and-brown wreath, copper berries, black seed clusters, crescent moons and sparse starbursts.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- TRANSFER + WREATH SCAFFOLD Transfer the heart, wings and mirrored wreath accurately. Work olive stems in 3011 stem stitch, shortening every stitch through tight curves. Establish branch junctions, then mark berry and seed centers so the circular rhythm stays balanced.
- PADDED HEART CONSTRUCTION Outline the heart and internal leaf-like veins in 3777 split stitch. Lay horizontal straight-stitch padding beneath the main rust fill, stopping about 1 mm inside the edge. Cover from lobes toward point in 920/921 satin, rotating stitch direction with the contour.
- BAT-WING THREAD PAINTING Define ribs first with one strand. Fill each membrane from the heart outward using 310/3799/413 long-and-short stitches angled roughly 25-40 degrees toward the nearest rib. Reserve 414 for narrow raised-edge catches so the wings remain deep and black.
- FOLIAGE + BERRY TEXTURE Fishbone olive leaves in 3011/3012 and brown leaves in 938/801, rotating direction around each central vein. Build copper berries with consistent 2-wrap 920 knots and pale berries in 738/3865. Add 310 seed clusters last to avoid snagging.
- MOONS + STARBURSTS Satin crescents along their curves in 729, keeping them comparatively low relief. Build rust stars with 3777/920 and gold stars with 729 using exact-center straight stitches. Use small 3865 points only on the brightest star tips.
- FINAL DEFINITION + FINISH Reinforce only essential heart, wing-rib and vine boundaries with one-strand split/backstitch. Check that the heart projects clearly in front of the wings while outer wreath relief stays modest. Bury dark tails under filled motifs and steam-block from the reverse
