Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structuralframework Transfer the pumpkin silhouette, face, stem, principal leaves, berry clusters, cloud shapes, moon phases and star positions.Check circular balance before dense stitching begins.
  2. Main focal element Build the smiling pumpkin first. Shade each panel vertically withwarm orange values, keep the contour smooth, then add thedark eyes, nose and smile after the fills are complete.
  3. Secondary large elementWork the moon phases and paired clouds, establishing the dark-to-light celestial range and keeping gold outlines narrower thanthe black and gray interior shapes.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifsComplete rust, tan, olive, charcoal and white leaves. Rotatefishbone direction with each leaf and keep overlaps crisp aroundthe lower pumpkin edge.
  5. Small decorative detailsAdd orange berry knots, gold stars, celestial dots, small stemcurls and isolated sparks. Keep spacing open around the faceand moon phases.
  6. Final accents, dimensionaldetails, cleanup, andblocking Refine pumpkin symmetry, facial expression, cloud contours, moon edges, leaf veins and knot density; secure the reverse, remove transfer marks, press from the back and block withoutflattening berries
