About this Spiderweb Cottage Hanging Moon Charms embroidery pattern
Spiderweb Cottage Hanging Moon Charms brings celestial and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Large gray webs crown and flank the house. Two large bats sit above, while a smaller cream-centered bat hangs below. Hanging details: Fine cords hold two oak leaves, a pale crescent with star, and a tiny pumpkin-shaped house ornament. Value structure: Charcoal anchors bats and windows; pale gray and cream lift webs and stars; ochre and old gold dominate the house and... Embroidery approach: Use 1 strand for webs, cords and stars; use 2 strands for directional fills on the house, roof, bats and charms, preserving open fabric.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Set the web and architectural framework Backstitch the house silhouette, roof edges, door/windows, major hanging cords and all spiderweb spokes so spacing is fixed before filled motifs are added.
- Build the cottage body Fill the rounded walls in yellow-beige shades with gentle contouring, then complete the gray-beige shingled roof and ornamental gable trim.
- Finish doors and windows Work the vertical door fill, deep window interiors, fine frames and muntins, then add small old-gold hardware and trim highlights.
- Stitch bats and webs Fill the two upper bats and the smaller lower bat with charcoal-to-gray wing shading; complete web connector bars after the filled motifs are stable.
- Add hanging charms Work the two oak leaves, crescent moon and star, plus the small pumpkin-shaped house ornament, keeping cords narrow and evenly tensioned.
- Complete celestial accents Add cream starbursts, tiny gold/gray dots and selected knots, then refine borders, clean traveling threads and secure all ends
