About this Witch Hat Spider with Moon Phases and Botanical Wildflowers embroidery pattern

Witch Hat Spider with Moon Phases and Botanical Wildflowers brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central witch-hat spider; multiple crescent/full-moon phase motifs; mirrored pale botanical sprays with grain-like stems, clustered flowers, lavender sprigs, buds and small star/dot accents.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structural framework Transfer the central spider/hat, moon-phase arc and lower moonmotifs, then the mirrored botanical sprays. Establish 1-strand 310/3799leg contours and 3782 stem paths before any dense fill.
  2. Main focal element Build the spider from 310/3799/413/318, directing long-and-shortstitches along each body segment and tapering the legs cleanly. Workthe hat with darker upper planes, a crisp brim and 729 buckle.
  3. Secondary large element Stitch the crescent and full-moon motifs with 318/3865/822/3782/420.Follow each crescent arc and keep full discs smoothly rounded; usethe darkest outline only where the artwork shows stronger edgedefinition.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifs Work pale side sprays from stems outward using 3782/822/3865. Keepfishbone and straight-stitch flow aligned with each leaf or grain-likeblade and mirror the visual weight on left and right.
  5. Small decorative details Add 3041/3740/3042 lavender sprigs and buds, pale petals,729/3822/3078 flower centers and tiny star/dot accents. Place knotslast so they remain crisp and raised.
  6. Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Refine spider highlights, moon edges, hat buckle and pale botanicaltips; remove transfer marks and damp-block gently, preserving thecentered spider, even moon spacing and balanced open negativespace
