About this Woodland Mushroom Cluster with Crescent Moon Stars Wheat embroidery pattern

Woodland Mushroom Cluster with Crescent Moon Stars Wheat brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central mixed mushroom cluster beneath a gold crescentand a circular star field with curling smoke-like lines, framed by wheat, lavender-like sprigs, rosehips, creambuds, rust leaves and olive foliage.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structuralframework Transfer the mushroom cluster, circular sky outline, crescentmoon, stars and dots, curling celestial lines, wreath stems, wheat, lavender sprigs, rosehips, cream buds and major leafgroups. Mark mushroom overlaps and gill directions.
  2. Main focal element Complete the central mushroom cluster first, beginning with thelargest rust cap and then the olive, black, brown and smallercaps. Add pale stems and radiating gills so each overlap remainsdistinct.
  3. Secondary large element Work the circular sky structure, gold crescent, dark and goldstars, dotted accents and curling smoke-like lines. Keep thecelestial linework lighter than the mushroom fills and preserveopen linen between marks.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifsBuild the wreath from main branches outward: wheat and grainheads first, then olive and rust leaves, lavender-like sprigs, rosehips, cream buds and small lower mushroom clusters.
  5. Small decorative details Add cap spots, tiny stars, gold and dark dots, seed clusters,berry-like knots and the smallest botanical tips. Vary knot sizesubtly while keeping each accent anchored to the visiblestructure.
  6. Final accents, dimensionaldetails, cleanup, andblocking Refine gill spacing, cap edges, moon curve, wheat awns, budrims and leaf tips; secure thread carries, remove transfer marks, press from the reverse and block without flattening raised budsor knots
