About this Autumn Boot Roses Wheat embroidery pattern
Autumn Boot Roses Wheat brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Dark brown lace-up ankle boot; rust-copper roses; golden wheat heads; olive and khaki foliage; tan leaves; orange-gold and dark brown berries; cream crescent moons and central full moon; scattered starbursts and dot accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance
The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.
The supplied guide labels this design intermediate. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.
Stitching sequence
- Transfer the complete boot, rose cluster, wheat heads, olive and tan foliage, berry branches, crescent moons, central full moon, starbursts and tiny dot accents. Preserve the airy ivory negative space around the wreath.
- Establish the boot with 3371/938/801, following the toe, vamp, shaft and heel planes. Blend 433/434 only on raised warm highlights; keep laces, eyelets, seams and sole edges crisp with one- or two-strand backstitch.
- Build the roses in 920/921/922 with layered petals that radiate around each center. Use darker copper in petal folds and lighter copper on upper edges; keep neighboring petals visually separate.
- Work wheat with 3826/729: stem-stitch stalks, short directional stitches for kernels and one-strand straight awns. Stitch foliage in 934/3011/3012, changing direction at each leaf midrib and using tan 738 only where the artwork turns pale.
- Add orange-gold berries in 922/3826 and dark berries in 3371/938 using compact knots or padded satin. Use 801/921 for fine berry branches and maintain the balanced circular wreath silhouette.
- Finish the crescent and full moons in 738/822 with smooth padded satin. Add warm and dark starbursts with 729/3371, then tiny dot accents. Check hoop clearance, symmetry and thread tails before reverse pressing. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Avoid flattening rose petals, berry knots, wheat texture, moon padding and the directional leather shading
