About this Black Boot Woodland Wreath embroidery pattern
Black Boot Woodland Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Black lace-up ankle boot; central burgundy, rust and cream flowers; dark green and olive foliage; black berries; surrounding acorn, pinecone and leafy woodland wreath; small crescents, pentagrams and stars.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance
The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.
The supplied guide labels this design intermediate. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.
Stitching sequence
- Transfer the complete black boot, central bouquet, surrounding woodland wreath, acorns, pinecones, berries and small celestial/occult symbols. Keep the circular spacing balanced and preserve clean linen between motifs.
- Establish the boot first with 310/3799/3371. Follow each leather panel with compact directional long-and-short stitch; keep laces, eyelets, seams and welt crisp with one-strand split or backstitch.
- Build the central bouquet from the back forward: dark foliage in 934/936/3011, rust petals in 975/3826, burgundy flowers in 815/816, cream flowers in 3865/822, then finish centers with 729/3826 knots.
- Work the woodland wreath in alternating sections so the circle stays balanced. Stitch branches in 801/938, leaves in 934/936/3011, acorns in 801/975/3826, and pinecones in 3371/938/801 with layered scales.
- Add black berries with 310/3371 and burgundy berries with 815/816. Keep berry knots compact and uniform. Use one strand for crescents, pentagrams and small stars so these details remain lighter than the botanicals.
- Refine the boot edge, flower silhouettes and wreath rhythm only where needed. Check that the black boot remains the focal anchor, the bouquet reads clearly, and the wreath stays airy. Reverse press over a towel. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Avoid flattening flower centers, berry knots, padded pinecones, acorn caps and the directional black boot shading
