About this Burgundy Boot Woodland Hoop embroidery pattern
Burgundy Boot Woodland Hoop brings celestial and woodland details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Burgundy lace-up ankle boot with brown leather trim and brass buckles; burgundy and ivory flowers; olive and forest-green foliage; oak leaves, acorns, pinecones and rust berries; crescent moons, stars and black symbolic marks.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance
The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.
The supplied guide labels this design intermediate. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.
Stitching sequence
- Transfer the complete boot silhouette, laces, two buckled straps, flower cluster, oak wreath, pinecones, acorns, berry branches, celestial motifs and all black symbols. Preserve the open ivory fabric between motifs.
- Establish the boot with 3371/938/801 for sole, heel, seams, laces and trim. Fill the main leather in 814/815/902, following the toe, vamp and shaft planes; keep edge stitching crisp around the buckles.
- Build the burgundy flowers with 814/815/902 using layered petals radiating from each center. Stitch ivory flowers in 3865 with warm 3826 knot centers and small dark outlining only where visible.
- Work the wreath from the branch structure outward. Use 934/936/3011 for oak leaves and smaller foliage, changing stitch direction at each leaf midrib to preserve the botanical shape.
- Add pinecones, acorns and berries with 938/801/3826/920/921. Use short layered stitches for cone scales, satin/straight stitch for acorn caps and compact knots or padded satin for berries.
- Finish the crescent moons, small stars and geometric symbols with 310, 3865 and 3826 as appropriate. Use one-strand backstitch for symbols, then inspect symmetry, hoop clearance and thread tails before reverse pressing. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Avoid flattening raised petals, berry knots, pinecone texture and the dimensional boot shading
