About this Crescent Moon Key with Woodland Mushrooms Crystals Stars embroidery pattern

Crescent Moon Key with Woodland Mushrooms Crystals Stars brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A central dark-blue key topped by a gold-edged crescentmoon, surrounded by a many-mushroom cluster, crystals, dark botanical sprigs, ochre leaves, starbursts, berryclusters and flowing navy-and-cream ribbon lines.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

  5. Small decorative detailsAdd blue-gray berry knots, circular textured stones, tiny ochredots, navy and gold stars, mushroom spots and the long flowingcream-and-navy lines around the composition.
  6. Final accents, dimensionaldetails, cleanup, andblocking Refine gill spacing, crystal edges, cap spots, key contours andribbon curves; secure carries, remove transfer marks, press fromthe reverse and block without crushing knots or padded circulardetails
