About this Ghost Gravestone Pumpkin Wreath embroidery pattern
Ghost Gravestone Pumpkin Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A pale flowing ghost wraps around a dark rounded gravestone at center. Six mustard-gold pumpkins sit around the lower and side edges. A circular wreath combines deep plum branches, berries and leaves with soft sage foliage. Across the top, fine warm-brown cords suspend small stars and crescent moons, while scattered star accents and curled tendrils complete the nocturnal autumn composition. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the gravestone arch, major cracks, ghost contour, six pumpkin lobes, wreath stems, leaf axes, berry stems and every overhead cord, crescent and star. Stitch the plum branch ring in 154/3740 first, following the circular growth direction; work the fine top cords in 3045/801 before bulky motifs obscure them. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Shade the gravestone with 3799/413/414/415 in mostly vertical grain, keeping the darkest values around the arch, lower corners and crack recesses. Build the ghost over and around it with 3865/712, following the sweeping body curve; preserve a clean pale center and place the 154 face only after the fill is smooth. 3. SECONDARY LARGE ELEMENT Work all six pumpkins in 3829/729/3045, stitching each lobe in curved vertical bands. Put 3829 in grooves and beneath stems, 729 across the main planes and 3045 on selective light ridges. Add 801 stems and curled tendrils after the pumpkin fills so their edges remain crisp. 4. FOLIAGE + WREATH SUPPORT Fill sage leaves with 3052/3053/522 and plum leaves with 154/3740/3726 using fishbone stitch from base to tip. Add veins with one strand after filling. Keep the outer foliage relatively flat and direct leaf tips outward to maintain a continuous wreath rhythm around the central ghost and stone. 5. SMALL DETAIL WORK Add plum berries with 154/3740/3726 using compact satin stitches or consistent French knots. Complete hanging crescents and stars with 3829/729/3045, radiating star rays from tight centers. Add stone cracks, berry stems, ghost face, small curls and isolated star accents last so the fine lines stay sharp. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Check that the pale ghost remains the brightest focal shape, the gravestone keeps the darkest structural contrast, and pumpkins form a warm base without overpowering the center. Equalize berry sizes, refine cord sag and branch joins, bury tails away from ivory gaps, then steam from the reverse and block flat
