About this Gothic Boot Skulls Bats Florals embroidery pattern
Gothic Boot Skulls Bats Florals brings botanical and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Ornate dark Victorian ankle boot; black and lavender bouquet; six cream skulls; three bats; pentagram medallion; acorns; cool gray-green vine wreath; black and lavender berries.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer the complete ornate ankle boot, central bouquet, six skulls, three bats, pentagram, acorns and circular vine wreath. Keep the ivory negative space open around the boot and between skulls, bats and branches.
- Establish the boot in 310/3799/414 with directional long-and-short shading. Work laces, eyelets, seams and decorative scrolls in one- or two-strand split/backstitch; reserve tiny couching or stem stitches for the raised ornamental curves.
- Build the bouquet: black flowers in 310/3799, lavender flowers in 3041/3042/3743, and cool taupe foliage in 3022/644. Radiate petal stitches from each center and use compact knots or seed stitches for flower cores.
- Stitch the six skulls with 3865/644/3022, keeping eye sockets and nasal cavities deep with 3021/3799. Use one strand for teeth separations, tiny cracks and jaw lines; preserve rounded cranial highlights.
- Work wreath vines and leaves with 926/927 plus 414 shadows. Add acorns in 801/420/3782 with padded satin and textured caps; place black and lavender berry knots in 310/3041/3042 without crowding the vine flow.
- Finish the three bats with 310/3799 and lavender accents where visible. Stitch the top pentagram with one-strand 420/3021 backstitch or couching, then check wreath symmetry, skull spacing, boot detail clarity and balanced negative space before reverse pressing. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Avoid flattening flower centers, berry knots, padded acorns, skull highlights, bat texture and the directional black-to-charcoal boot shading
