About this Halloween Moth Spiderweb embroidery pattern
Halloween Moth Spiderweb brings celestial details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Large cream, black and burgundy moth; circular black-and-burgundy spiderweb; four flying bats; scattered stars, dots and green web accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
Color and stitch guidance
The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.
The supplied guide labels this design intermediate. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.
Stitching sequence
- Transfer the full moth silhouette, body segments, wing markings, circular spiderweb, four bats, green accent curves, stars and dot placements. Keep the moth centered and preserve even open linen around the wings.
- Outline the moth in 310/3371, then build the cream wing areas with 3865/822/739 using smooth directional long-and-short stitch. Add the black moon-like markings in 310/3799 and keep their edges crisp.
- Shade the burgundy sections with 814/815/816 and the deep-green lower-wing areas with 934/936. Use 420/729 along selected wing edges and antennae for the warm metallic-looking outline without over-thickening the border.
- Construct the web with one strand: 310 for major spokes and outer structure, 814/815 for the curved inner arcs, and 936 for the green accent segments. Work from the center outward so crossings remain neat and tension stays even.
- Stitch the bats in 310 and selected 815 accents with compact satin or long-and-short stitch, directing the fill from body to wing tip. Add stars in 3829/729/3821 and small dots as French or colonial knots.
- Finish the tiny white and gold starlets, burgundy/black dots and green starbursts. Check circular web symmetry, secure carries only behind dense areas, trim jumps across open linen, then reverse press over a towel to preserve moth relief. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Protect raised knots and keep the moth body, web intersections, bat silhouettes and wing relief from flattening
