About this Haunted Crystal Ball Ghosts Celestial Moon Phases embroidery pattern
Haunted Crystal Ball Ghosts Celestial Moon Phases brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A large crystal ball contains a haunted twilight landscape with a winding path, dark bare trees, a tall glowing tower and four floating white ghosts. Violet smoke curls above and below the globe. Around it sit rose and gold moon phases, starbursts, constellation dots and a compact floral spray beneath an ornate brown-gold pedestal. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + FRAMEWORK Transfer the globe circle, pedestal, tower, major tree trunks, road centerline, primary hills and largest smoke curls. Mark only the main moon phases, large starbursts and bottom floral cluster. Establish the globe edge in one-strand 3371 split stitch and the darkest tree/tower structure in 3371/310 before any broad filling. 2. HAUNTED LANDSCAPE Fill the globe background from far to near: 3042/3727 in distant hills, 3041/3740 in middle slopes, then 154 at the strongest foreground shadows. Shape the winding road with lighter mauve and 762/3865 touches, narrowing toward the tower. Keep long-and-short stitch aligned to each ridge so the terrain remains layered. 3. TOWER + FOREST SILHOUETTES Complete the central tower in 801/3828, adding 729/3822 to the roof and glowing windows. Build trunks and bare limbs with 3371/310, tapering from two strands at trunk bases to one strand at terminal twigs. Let a few branches cross pale hills and ghosts, but preserve clear negative space around the tower opening. 4. GHOSTS + GLOBE DEPTH Fill all four ghosts in 3865, adding 762 along one side and under the lower folds for soft volume. Add 310 faces last. Reinforce the globe rim with 729/3828 highlights and a few 762 glass glints. Keep the ghosts brighter than the path and hills so they read immediately without flattening the surrounding landscape. 5. SMOKE + CELESTIAL ORNAMENT Work the long smoke ribbons above and below the globe in 154/3740/3041/3042, following each spiral continuously. Stitch the rose and gold moon phases in 3726/3727 and 3828/3822. Add large stars in 729/3822, then the constellation lines and dots. Leave generous linen visible between celestial motifs. 6. PEDESTAL, FLOWERS + BLOCKING Finish the pedestal in 3371/801/3828 with 729 ridge highlights, keeping stitch direction aligned to each curved molding. Add the lower floral spray with 3726/3727 petals, 801/3828 center tones, 3052 stems and small 3822 knots. Erase transfer residue and block from the reverse so raised ghosts, pedestal ridges and knots keep their relief
