About this Moonlit Tudor Cottage Pumpkins Celestial Garden embroidery pattern
Moonlit Tudor Cottage Pumpkins Celestial Garden brings celestial details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A deep green Tudor cottage with warm glowing windows anchors the center. Above it floats a large ornate crescent moon surrounded by stars, constellation marks, tiny moons and burgundy bats. A plum-red tree on the left and deep green fruiting tree on the right frame the house, while copper pumpkins, berries, curling vines and low foliage form the foreground garden. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the cottage silhouette, roof pitches, chimney, dormers, windows, door and major timber divisions. Mark the crescent moon with its main ornamental bands, both large trees, foreground pumpkins and the main curling vines. Place only the larger stars, bats and constellation lines; leave tiny dots and berry knots for the end. 2. COTTAGE ARCHITECTURE Establish the focal value mass first. Fill roof and wall greens with 934/935, keeping directional stitches aligned to each plane, then add 154/3799 timber and structural shadows. Stitch chimney in 801/898. Keep window areas empty until surrounding darks are complete so the glow can be judged accurately. 3. WINDOWS + ORNATE MOON Fill windows in 729/676 satin and restore muntins in 3799. Build the crescent with 3828/801, adding 898/3799 on the outer rim and one-strand spiral ornament last. Stitch the small gold inner crescent and brightest moon highlights in 729/676, preserving clear separation from the surrounding star field. 4. TREES + SIDE FOLIAGE Stem-stitch the left tree in 154 with 814/815 foliage and the right tree in 934/935 with 522 highlights. Direct leaf stitches away from branches and vary leaf length to keep both silhouettes organic. Add orange 920/921 berry clusters only after leaves are placed, concentrating more weight toward the lower halves. 5. PUMPKINS + FOREGROUND VINES Shape each pumpkin with curved 921/920 ridges, deepening segment valleys with 801/898 and keeping highlights near upper lobes. Build lower vines in 154/934 stem stitch, then add 522/3052 leaves and selected 729/676 knots. Let the central vine scrolls remain open enough that the fabric still shows between curves. 6. BATS, STARS + FINAL KNOTS Fill bats in 154/814 satin and use one strand for all constellation links, small moons and star rays. Add 729/676 celestial highlights plus tiny 920/921 and dark berry knots around the lower garden. Re-state only necessary dark outlines, remove transfer marks and block from the reverse without crushing French knots or padded moon stitches
