About this Pumpkin Teapot Ghosts Celestial Botanical Wreath embroidery pattern

Pumpkin Teapot Ghosts Celestial Botanical Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A dark plum pumpkin-shaped teapot dominates the center, with a curved spout, looped handle, green stem and decorative tendrils. The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the pumpkin-teapot silhouette, ribs, spout, handle, stem, steam curls, three ghosts, full wreath branches, major flowers, crescents, starbursts and all small dots. Stitch the sage branch scaffold first in 3051/3052, then place the darkest teapot contour anchors in 3371 without closing every outline yet. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Fill the teapot ribs with 154/315/3726, following each rounded section from upper shoulder toward the base. Reserve 3042/822 for narrow highlights and use 3371 sparingly in rib seams, underside, spout mouth and handle interior. Keep the central body smooth and weighty, with the strongest dark-light contrast here. 3. SECONDARY LARGE ELEMENT Work the two cream steam plumes in 3865/822, following each spiral continuously so the curls read fluidly. Add the thin 3371 outer contour only after the fill. Keep steam flatter and lighter than the teapot, with almost no raised knots or heavy dark shading. 4. GHOSTS + BOTANICAL SUPPORT Fill all three ghosts in 3865 with 822 at lower edges and tail turns; add tiny 3371 faces last. Complete the wreath leaves in 3051/3052/3053 from base to tip, then stitch inner green tendrils. Keep ghost silhouettes crisp against the foliage and preserve open ivory gaps around each figure. 5. FLOWERS + CELESTIAL DETAIL Build the large purple starbursts with 154/3834/3835, radiating from center to tip; use 315/3726 for smaller mauve blossoms. Add 3829/729 centers, crescent moons, small four-point stars and French-knot dots. Work all tiny celestial marks in one strand or compact knots so they remain secondary. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Add final teapot stem/vine highlights in 3052/3053, strengthen only the necessary 3371 outlines, and place remaining berry dots, leaf veins and gold accents. Check circular balance, steam symmetry, ghost spacing and the open negative space inside the wreath. Bury dark tails away from ivory areas, steam from the reverse and block flat
