About this Raven Spiderwebs Celestial Bats embroidery pattern
Raven Spiderwebs Celestial Bats brings celestial and gothic details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Four corner webs create the outer frame. Three bats, spiders, crescents, starbursts and flowing green-gray vines fill the negative space without competing with the bird. Value structure: Near-black values sit in the raven, webs, spiders and left bat. Mid grays define feather layers; muted green-gray controls the vines and two bats. Gold, cream and copper accents provide the brightest contrast. Embroidery approach: Build all fine framework first, then complete the raven and perch. Add bats and spiders next, followed by vines, stars, crescents and raised knot accents as the final texture layer.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Establish the web frame Backstitch all four spiderweb corners with one strand. Add the spiders only after the web geometry is clean and evenly tensioned.
- Outline the raven and perch Use split stitch to define the raven silhouette, wing divisions, beak, claws and the twisting branch before filling.
- Build raven feather layers Work long-and-short stitch from the head and shoulder through wing and tail, blending 310/3799 into 413/414/318 highlights.
- Stitch bats and branch color Complete the left charcoal bat and two sage-gray bats, then add copper, gold and brown-gray accents along the branch.
- Add vines and celestial motifs Stem-stitch the green-gray tendrils, satin-stitch crescents, and use straight/eye stitches for the radiating stars.
- Finish raised accents Add French knots and tiny dot stitches in gold, copper, cream and white. Recheck negative space and trim or secure all thread tails
