Raven Twisted Vine Skull Bloom Wreath

Hand embroidery pattern PDF

US$2.00

A heavy twisted branch curves beneath the bird and rises along the right edge. Rust berry clusters, olive foliage and two ivory skull-blooms create the circular wreath rhythm. Value hierarchy: Near- black and navy sit in the raven and branch crevices; medium browns structure the wood; rust- orange berries and leaves provide warm contrast; ivory skull-blooms are the brightest accents. Embroidery approach: Establish the branch and vine skeleton first, stitch the raven next, then layer foliage and berries. Add skull-blooms and starbursts last so pale details remain clean.

About this Raven Twisted Vine Skull Bloom Wreath embroidery pattern

Raven Twisted Vine Skull Bloom Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A heavy twisted branch curves beneath the bird and rises along the right edge.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and anchor structure Mark the raven silhouette, major branch, rising right-side vine, left botanical arc, skull-bloom circles and star positions. Keep transfer lines light.
  2. Build the woody framework Work the main branch and twisted vines with stem/split stitch, placing deep brown in inner turns and a lighter brown on the upper ridges.
  3. Stitch the raven Outline first, then fill head, breast, wing and tail with feather-direction long-and- short stitches. Add cool teal highlights sparingly over the navy-black base.
  4. Add foliage and warm accents Stitch olive leaves with fishbone/satin stitch, then rust leaves and berry knots. Keep leaf center veins visible where present.
  5. Complete the skull-blooms Pad and satin-fill the two ivory skull-like flowers; add small brown eye sockets, nose and mouth marks with one strand.
  6. Finish celestial details Add copper-gold starbursts, scattered knots and tiny line accents. Clean outlines, secure ends and inspect the open negative space for balance
