About this Spiderweb Floral Boot embroidery pattern

Spiderweb Floral Boot brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Cream lace-up ankle boot with deep teal shading; terracotta rose; teal, cream and olive flowers; copper and olive foliage; deep teal spiderwebs; small spiders, stars, moon, berries and botanical sprigs.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Printable outline preview

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied guide proposes 15 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

The supplied guide labels this design intermediate. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer the complete boot, central bouquet, upper-right spiderweb, smaller web on the boot shaft, side botanicals, hanging spiders, stars and crescent moon. Keep the negative space around both webs open.
  2. Establish the boot with 822/3865 for the cream leather and 500/501/502 for teal shading. Follow each leather panel with directional long-and-short stitch; keep seams, heel details and laces crisp with one strand.
  3. Build the floral cluster from the back forward: olive foliage in 934/936/3011, teal petals in 500/501/502, cream flowers in 3865/822, then the terracotta rose in 920/921/922 with 3371 reserved for the deepest folds.
  4. Work the large spiderweb with one strand of 500: stitch radial spokes first, then add curved capture lines from the center outward. Repeat on the smaller rust web over the boot using 920/921 and keep both webs delicate.
  5. Add hanging spider threads, spiders, stars, crescent moon, berries and side sprigs. Use 310 for spider bodies and selected dark berries; 3826/729 for warm details; 3865/822 for pale stars and moon highlights.
  6. Refine only where needed: sharpen the boot outline, rose silhouette, web intersections and fine stems. Check that the cream boot remains readable beneath the floral and web layers, then reverse press over a towel. FINISHING: Steam from the reverse over a towel. Avoid flattening the rose, flower centers, berry knots, web crossings, buckle and directional boot shading
