About this Webbed Botanical Ring with Pumpkins Cauldrons and Spiders embroidery pattern
Webbed Botanical Ring with Pumpkins Cauldrons and Spiders brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: and small metallic-looking accents. Needles: Crewel #9 for 1-strand webs, branches and stars; #8 for 2-strand pumpkins and leaves; #7 for denser cauldron and bat fills. Strands: 1 strand for web geometry, fine stems and starbursts; 2 strands for pumpkins, foliage, spiders and bats; 2-3 for cauldrons, bubbles and accent knots. Motifs: Large central web with four spiders, smaller webs, eight pumpkins, three cauldrons, two prominent bats, leafy branches, gold starbursts/dots and curled gold accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.
