About this Witch Hat Ghost Bats Celestial Wreath embroidery pattern
Witch Hat Ghost Bats Celestial Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central flowing sheet ghost wearing a pointed witch hat; five bats; multiple stitched constellations; scattered navy, gold and pale stars/dots; tiny spiral.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the ghost, hat brim/cone, all five bats, constellation lines/nodes, large star centers, spiral planets and the full wreath branch skeleton. Stitch long navy and gold stems first in 823/680-729 with 1 strand; establish constellation lines before nearby dots so spacing stays accurate. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Fill the ghost in 3865 with long-and-short stitches flowing from head to trailing hem and curving with each fold. Use 822 sparingly in fold valleys, beneath the arms and along the right-side taper. Add the 3799 contour and 310 eyes only after the pale fill is smooth so the face stays clean. 3. WITCH HAT + FIVE BATS Shade the hat from 3799/413 at the brim underside into 318 on the upper cone, keeping stitches aligned with the hat planes and the brim elliptical. Fill bats from body toward wing tips with 823, 3799 and touches of 930/413; finish pointed edges and 1-strand membrane ribs last. 4. WREATH FOLIAGE Build the wreath from branch bases outward. Fishbone-fill navy leaves in 823/930 and antique-gold leaves in 680/729/3045, always working base to tip. Keep branch curves flat and light; allow leaf overlaps to create depth without closing the open ring around the ghost. 5. CONSTELLATIONS + CELESTIAL FIELD Complete constellation connectors in 1-strand 823/3799, then place knot-nodes, starbursts and small dots in 823/930/931, 680/729 and pale neutrals. Work large stars as radial straight stitches; keep tiny dots compact and stitch spiral planets as controlled inward coils. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Add final hat creases, bat ribs, ghost fold accents, smallest stars and any isolated knots only after all fills are settled. Check that the pale ghost remains dominant, the hat silhouette stays sharp, five bats read separately, constellations stay legible and the wreath retains open negative space. Bury dark tails away from 3865 and steam-block gently from the reverse
