About this Celestial Spiderweb Pumpkin Moths Gothic Foliage embroidery pattern
Celestial Spiderweb Pumpkin Moths Gothic Foliage brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A large pale pumpkin dominates the center, overlaid with a delicate spiderweb and black spider. Above it sit three crescent moons in gold, black and lavender with hanging starbursts. Two moths flank the pumpkin. A symmetrical wreath of black, dusty-rose and plum foliage, berry clusters, curling black vines, small gold stars and celestial dots surrounds the composition. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the pumpkin lobes/stem, web spokes, spider, three crescents, hanging chains, moths, scrolling black branches, leaf groups, berries and star points. Stitch the black branch framework first in one strand 310, following the circular flow and leaving all leaves/berries open. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Build the pale pumpkin with Ecru/3865 as the dominant light and 3864/315 only in the side lobes, grooves and lower shadow pockets. Direct stitches shoulder-to-lower center. Keep the central face almost white, then add 3782/420 to the stem with vertical-to-diagonal grain following its taper. 3. SECONDARY LARGE ELEMENT Work the spiderweb across the finished pumpkin using one strand Ecru/3864: radial spokes first, then shallow curved cross-lines. Keep tension soft and spacing even. Add the central black spider in 310 satin stitch; legs and tiny body edges are one-strand details stitched only after the web is stable. 4. CELESTIAL + MOTH ELEMENTS Fill the gold crescent and stars with 3829/729/3045, the lavender crescent with 3740/3041/3743, and the center crescent with flat 310. Shade moth wings from 310/154 into 3740/3041 with 729 gold markings, always following wing compartments; add veins/antennae last. 5. FOLIAGE + SMALL DETAIL WORK Complete leaves in 310/154/3740/3041/315/223 with fishbone stitches base-to-tip, keeping dark foliage at the upper/outer frame and dusty rose-plum leaves lower/right. Add berry clusters as consistent knots, then one-strand hanging lines, tiny dots and the small black/gold star motifs. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Check symmetry around the pumpkin: moons and moths should balance without competing with the webbed center. Refine any heavy branch joins, ensure web lines remain delicate, add only the missing gold/rose spark accents, bury tails away from the pale pumpkin, then steam from the reverse and block flat
