About this Decorated Skull with Floral Crown Crescent Moon and Botanical embroidery pattern
Decorated Skull with Floral Crown Crescent Moon and Botanical brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central decorated skull with cream scrolling ornament, floral crown growing from the top, olive botanical ring with curling brown vines, rust-orange and cream flowers, dark seed-pod forms, one crescent moon, starbursts and dotted celestial accents.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- Transfer and structural framework Transfer the skull outline, eye and nose cavities, teeth, main creamornamental curls, crown stems, large flower centers, brown scrolling vines, crescent moon and principal star/linework points. Mark the botanical ringbefore filling so left-right balance stays even.
- Main focal element Build the skull from darkest 3371/938 into 801/433 and rust 3777/918/920accents, following bone contours from forehead toward cheek and jaw. Leaveteeth and cream ornaments unfilled until shadow planes are stable; use 1-strand split stitch to keep eye and nose edges crisp.
- Secondary large element Work the crown flowers and seed pods above the skull. Shape orange petalsfrom center outward with 3777/918/920, use 746/3865 for pale flowers and3021/801 for dark pods, keeping each flower center compact and slightlydimensional.
- Foliage / supporting motifs Stitch the brown scroll vines first in 938/801, then fill olive leaves in 3011/3052with fishbone stitch. Follow each branch curve and keep the leaf tips pointed;preserve open ivory channels between the skull and outer ring.
- Small decorative details Add the cream skull scrollwork, teeth and crescent moon in 746/3865. Placegold 729/676 starbursts and point-to-point linework with 1 strand, then addrust/gold French knots only after the main fills are complete so dots remainclean and round.
- Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Refine tooth separations, skull highlights, pod ridges, leaf veins and starcenters. Compare both sides of the botanical ring for equal visual weight, trimcarried threads behind pale areas, remove transfer marks and block from thereverse without flattening knots or flower centers
