Stitching sequence

  1. PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the full pumpkin contour/ribs, stem and tendrils, wreath branches, major maple/oak leaves, ferns, three pinecones, acorns, berry clusters, crescents, stars and geometric symbols. Stitch the circular twig scaffold first in 939/3799 with one strand, keeping the wreath even and the central pumpkin area open. 2. MAIN FOCAL ELEMENT Fill the jack-o'lantern with 3865/822/762/3743/318. Follow each rib downward and slightly inward; keep 3865 on the forward planes, use 762/3743 for soft lavender-gray turning, and restrict 318 to narrow valleys and the lower edge. Add the 939/310 eyes, nose and smile only after all pale filling is complete. 3. SECONDARY LARGE ELEMENT Work the dark stem and curls with 3799/939 plus restrained 3781 where a warm turn appears. Follow the upward twist and keep tendrils one strand. Then establish the strongest dark leaf masses in 939/336, working every leaf from base to tip so the wreath gains a clear visual rhythm without flattening the pumpkin. 4. FOLIAGE / ACORNS / PINECONES Stitch mauve leaves and ferns in 3740/3041/3042, pale leaves in 3865/822/762 and taupe accents in 452. Build pinecones scale-by-scale with 3781/3863/3782 and darker crevices in 3799. Work acorn nuts smoothly, then add textured caps last so their rims remain clean. 5. SMALL DETAIL WORK Add berry clusters in 3740/3041/3042 and selected 939/310 dark berries using compact French knots. Add fine veins, fern rachises and twig forks with one strand. Stitch crescent moons, starbursts and geometric/constellation-like symbols last in 939/318/3042 so their spacing can be balanced against the completed wreath. 6. FINAL DETAILS + BLOCKING Refine pumpkin rib valleys with sparse 318/3740 only where needed, sharpen the smiling face, deepen cone crevices and add selective one-strand outlines on overlapping leaves. Confirm that the pale pumpkin remains dominant, navy foliage stays crisp, mauve leaves remain secondary and celestial symbols stay delicate. Bury tails, steam from reverse and block flat
