About this Moonlit Forest Crystal Ball with Lavender Roses Spiderwebs embroidery pattern

Moonlit Forest Crystal Ball with Lavender Roses Spiderwebs brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central crystal ball with a black moonlit forest, lavender path, pale crescent and bats; framed by ivory, gray and lavender roses, purple buds, olive foliage, spiderwebs, hanging stars and a warm gold stand.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structural frameworkTransfer the crystal-ball circle and base first, then mark the major forest trunks, crescent, bats, rose centers, vine arcs, spiderweb anchors and hanging stars. Establish 310 forest/web lines in 1 strand and a light 729 globe/base boundary so the circular focal element stays true.
  2. Main focal element Build the globe interior from 3865/762 pale sky into 3042/3041 lavender ground shadows, reserving 310 for the tree silhouettes and bats. Keep tree stitches vertical and branching outward, then add the crescent with 3046/783 and place the brightest 3865/762 crystal glints only after the dark forest is complete.
  3. Secondary large element Model the gold stand and globe rim with 729, 783 and 3046, following the curved base bands rather than stitching straight across. Work the large lavender and gray roses next from 3740/3041/3042 and 3799/413/318/762, keeping petal direction spiraled from each center.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifs Build olive vines and leaves with 3011, 3012 and 3013, using fishbone stitches that fan from each midrib and stem stitches that follow the wreath arcs. Add ivory roses in 822/3865 and keep their lightest petals separated from nearby crystal highlights.
  5. Small decorative details Stitch spiderwebs, hanging stars and tiny branch lines in 310/3799 with a single strand, then add purple buds in 3740/3041/3042 and sparse French-knot berries. Place web radial lines first and connect them with shallow curved bridges so the geometry stays airy rather than heavy.
  6. Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Reinforce the deepest 310 forest silhouettes and selected rose recesses, then add 762/3865 crystal sparkles, 3046 gold edge lights and 3013 leaf tips. Check that the crystal ball remains the darkest focal center, the rose wreath reads evenly around it and no web or vine line tangles visually with the globe rim before blocking
