About this Moonlit Woodland Cottage Celestial Wreath embroidery pattern
Moonlit Woodland Cottage Celestial Wreath brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: A compact dark cottage anchors the center, with a cream upper gable, deep blue-green lower walls, nearly black scalloped roof, copper-brown chimney and glowing old-gold windows. A large curling smoke plume sweeps across the upper sky. Olive branches frame both sides, while low shrubs and grasses form the base. Copper starbursts, black stars, small crescents, dot constellations and scattered berries complete the woodland-night wreath. Artwork reference - complete composition, undistorted.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- PHASES 1. TRANSFER + STRUCTURAL FRAME Transfer the cottage silhouette, roof slopes, chimney, full smoke S-curve, major side branches, shrub masses, both crescents, black stars, copper starbursts and principal constellation dots. Mark only the largest berries at first; reserve tiny sparkles and short grasses until the visual balance is established. 2. COTTAGE + WINDOW GLOW Stitch the cottage first. Outline in 3799/310, fill lower walls in 500/501, keep the front gable pale with 3865 and add 3021/3799 siding and timber lines. Build the roof in 310/3799 scalloped units, then work 729/3829 windows and re-outline muntins so the warm panes stay crisp. 3. CHIMNEY + SWIRLING SMOKE Work the chimney in 801/898 with narrow 921 highlights. Follow the large smoke plume in 500/501 from the chimney upward through the sweeping S-curve, keeping stitch direction continuous around the spiral. Add 3799 only to the inner shadow channel and 921/922 as sparse warm contour accents. 4. BRANCHES + LEAF FRAME Stem-stitch the side branches in 3021/898, then add leaves in 3011/3012/3013 with fishbone stitches aimed away from each stem. Place black 310 and copper/gold 3829/420 berry knots irregularly. Keep open gaps between leaf groups so the frame remains botanical rather than becoming a solid border. 5. SHRUBS + FOREGROUND GRASSES Build the low bushes in 3011/3012/3021 with short seed stitches, tiny straight stitches and selective knots, following each mound contour. Add 3013 highlights along the top edges and finish the ground with sparse upward grass strokes in 3011/3013, leaving white fabric visible between clumps. 6. CRESCENTS + STARS + FINAL SPARKLE Satin-stitch the crescents in 921/922 and add black stars in 310 with clean radial straight stitches. Work copper starbursts and constellations in 921, then place a restrained scatter of 3829 gold knots where the artwork shows sparkle. Check that the smoke remains the dominant sky gesture and the cottage stays the visual anchor. Remove transfer residue and block from the reverse
